Editing our trailer

Our group used iMovie to edit the trailer. iMovies allows for a variety of effects to be used on the clips, and we decided upon a vignette filter applied to the whole trailer. This helped us achieve the gritty action film look that big budget films use.

  • We muted the volume of our clips and applied a voice over. This meant we could edit audio volume and settings. We pitched down my voice over to sound more like Liam Neeson's.
  • We used transitions in between scene changes to add professionalism to the trailer. We used the fade to black transitions liberally, as it adds suspense to the piece.
  • A gunshot sound effect was used, we downloaded it from itunes.

Here is our group's trailer. We followed the narrative of the film, although there were some scenes which were impossible to recreate as they involved numerous actors or props that were unavailable such as cars or guns.
